All reports have it that former National Security boss' deliberate absence in court today stalled the case.
They said he swore not to appear unless he could be dragged to court.
The EFCC councel, Rotimi Jacob (SAN), in his submission before Justice Yusuf, told the court his refusal to appear in court and even he notified the court the absence of his senior counsel . He also informed the court that Dasuki and his counsel had filed an appeal to stop his trial. He said it was deliberate plan by the defendant and his counsel to frustrate the trial
EFCC counsel submission : "My lord we pleaded with him that nobody can abduct him but he refused to come. Also J.B. Daudu filed an application at the Appeal Court. When I saw it, I knew it would stall the day's proceedings.
"My lord, I did not know it will get to this extent. It was deliberate game plan by the defendant and his counsels that the trial will not go on,"
In reaction a cousel who stepped in for the defendant's counsel , lawyer wale Balogun asked the court to dismiss the prosecution's submission because it was mere heresy.
Ruling- Justice Hussein Buba Yusuf judged that it would be right to hear from DSS on correct position of Mr Dasuki and he adjourned case to April 6.
As a recall ,Justice Yusuf had formerly turned down the application of Dasuki, requesting for the squashing of his case on the ground that the prosecution and their client had disobeyed court three times to have his bail.
